Direct Cremation

A direct cremation is an unattended funeral with no service or mourners present, but it is carried out with upmost dignity and respect as with a traditional funeral. A direct cremation is becoming increasingly popular option for those who want as little fuss as possible, or for the family to celebrate the life of their loved one in their own time, with a separate memorial service taking place at a later date. 

At John Davies and Sons Funeral Directors, we offer a direct cremation package with Sirhowy Valley Crematorium, based in Pontllanfraith. The cost for a direct cremation with us is £1,550.00, which includes the following: 

• Our professional services, including completion of the necessary paperwork and arranging the cremation.
• Conveyance of your loved one from the place of death to our Chapel of Rest. 
• Provision of a standard oak veneer coffin. 
• Provision of a hearse or another suitable vehicle on the day of the cremation. 
• Returning your loved one’s ashes (we can arrange for the ashes to be placed in a cremation casket or urn of your choice for an extra fee).
